The Steam release of Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition now has cross-platform saves with the Switch version, which launched last night. SOLUTION: I eventually found out what to do. On Steam, turn cloud sync off for Divinity Original Sin 2. On your PC, go to Documents -> Larian Studios and delete the Divinity Original Sin 2 folder (don't delete the Definitive Edition folder!). Then boot the game. If your Classic profile appears, delete it. Close the game.
